If you are feeling sick or suspect you have COVID-19, please contact your primary care provider. Your PCP can provide next steps for your care and determine if you should be tested. Please do not go to the emergency room, unless you are experiencing:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or chest pressure
- Sudden confusion or lack of energy
- Bluish lips or face
- Other life-threatening conditions such as a heart attack, stroke, coughing or vomiting blood, serious burns or cuts, or a fever in children under 8 weeks old
As of Friday, March 20, Cedars-Sinai is following the directive from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to test people with symptoms compatible with COVID-19 only when a diagnostic result will change the patient's clinical management or inform a public health response.
Cedars-Sinai has a drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic for patients referred to us by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The clinic is not open to the general public. Those who qualify for drive-through testing will be preregistered and given an appointment.
If you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, dry cough, aches and tightness in the chest, contact your primary care provider or call 1-800-CEDARS-1 (1-800-233-2771).
Our doctors are working to respond to patients as quickly as possible. Please understand that offices are receiving a larger-than-usual volume of questions, and responses may take longer than usual.
If you and your doctor(s) are connected on My CS-Link, send a message—that's the best way to contact your doctor. You also can call 1-800-CEDARS-1 (1-800-233-2771) and a representative will assist in contacting your doctor's office.
For urgent matters that cannot wait, consider going to urgent care.
If your symptoms are manageable—low-grade fever, cough, chest congestion and mild fatigue—we recommend resting at home, drinking lots of water and taking fever-reducing medication, such as acetaminophen, and following isolation precautions recommended by the CDC.
If you develop worsening symptoms such as labored breathing, persistent high fever or severe weakness, please visit one of our urgent care centers.
You also can call 1-800-CEDARS-1 (1-800-233-2771) to help you find a doctor.
Cedars-Sinai is committed to ensuring that all our patients have access to the care they need during the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
For COVID-19 testing and screening, we will not be collecting co-payments or co-insurance from patients during the national emergency. This applies to patients with commercial insurance, as well as patients with governmental payors such as Medicare or Medi-Cal. We will continue to bill insurance, including government payors, for all COVID-19 related testing and screening. Patients will not be responsible for any remaining balance (after insurance payment) for COVID-19 testing and screening services.
New visitor guidelines have been put in place to protect everyone's safety.
The best scientific data and expertise inform us that "social distancing" is an essential element in successful efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. It is critical that we adhere to these visitor restrictions in order to protect our entire community.
Valet parking is still available at South Tower, Taper, Emergency Room and Cancer Center.
